The Vagabond Theatre Ensemble

KEVIN REED

Do I write in first or third?  Too late I guess.  A native of Kansas City, alum at USC in LA, two & 1/2 year resident of this place.  I moved to New York to find, I don't know, grit and grind and rough times, I guess.  To challenge myself with a place that might beat me, to be on the stage.  I moved to LA expecting to hop off the plane and get pointed to the nearest camera crew for my closeup. That delusion evaporated before my four years were over as I became more aware of what I really wanted out of acting.  So I left LA--after some surly commercial work and a few plays at school under my belt--and moved to NY with three grand I got from selling my car.  Bouncing around friends' apartments for awhile (thank you, glasse) and then eventually settling in for a crude two year lease of my own, I have found so much fun stuff to do in this place.  Plays going up, vagabonds running about, a film that went to Tribeca but hasn't been released yet, a manager I've known since I was 16, an agent who still hasn't called me about a contract, auditions, auditions, writing, drumming, reading, worrying, celebrating, overthinking.  I'm in a weird place.  Good, but weird.  Oh, and I studied with Bill Esper for two years. Think I'm gonna get back into his classes.   All in all, I feel I've begun to establish my very own grease stain on the tarpit of time.  Miss you.
